Dividend policy
Amerigo's board of directors may declare dividends at its discretion. The dividend policy of the board is, after taking into account the Company's cash flow, short term and long term needs and objectives, to declare and pay dividends on Amerigo's common shares averaging at least one-third of reported net earnings over a period of years. Under the policy, dividends will be paid semi-annually, on or about the beginning of April and September in each year.
Dividend taxation
The federal Income Tax Act, and most provincial income tax legislation, provides lower levels of taxation for Canadian individuals who receive eligible dividends paid after December 31, 2005. All of the dividends paid by Amerigo from 2006 to date are eligible dividends, and all dividends paid hereafter will be eligible dividends unless otherwise indicated.
