Dividends

The Board of Directors of Amerigo will continue to declare dividends depending on a number of factors including but not limited to the Company’s financial performance, the copper market outlook and the level of activity of the Company’s share buyback programs.

Eligible dividends

Amerigo views common share dividends as an important part of a shareholder's return on investment. 

The Board of Directors of Amerigo reinstated the declaration and payment of dividends in the fourth quarter of 2021 and is currently paying a sustainable quarterly dividend of Cdn$0.03 per share, and has announced a performance dividend mechanism which can be used at any time and in any amount to distribute surplus cash to shareholders, with a targeted minimum corporate cash balance of $20 to $25 million. 

Amerigo has designated all dividends since December 31, 2005, as “eligible dividends” for purposes of the Income Tax Act (Canada), as amended from time to time.

Withholding taxes

No withholding tax will be applied to tax residents of Canada. 

Canadian non-resident taxpayers who hold their Amerigo shares through brokerage accounts should contact their brokers to complete the appropriate income tax forms to request a credit for taxes withheld on the dividends from Amerigo. Taxes are withheld by your broker, not by Amerigo or Computershare.

Canadian non-resident taxpayers who hold their Amerigo shares directly through Computershare should complete the appropriate income tax forms with Computershare.  Forms can be submitted by email to service@computershare.com.
